Would give a 0 star if I could. My girlfriend and I have been here 7.5 hours and have had nothing but vitals and 1 preliminary done. It's dirty, in that 7 hours no one has cleaned the bathroom, when they wipe down the Check in desks they use the same rag just transferring bacteria from one to the other 3 sections. The staff, aside from 1 person, has done absolutely nothing. Without going into too much detail, my girl is expecting but has heavy bleeding from her personal space, and in 7.5 hours, they haven't even done the bare minimum. Even when there weren't many people here at 11-12. they don't treat this emergency room like an actual emergency room making almost no effort to see people....aside from the Dr walking out and taking a RN back 20 minutes after he registered and checked in....absolutely the worst hospital/emergency room. In a job and department where people's health is the concern, this is inexcusable.

I recently had a knee revision. The surgery went well. Upon waking up in recovery I found that there were no beds or rooms available. I was forced to sleep on a gurney attached to faulty monitor equipment that woke me up constantly in the recovery room with no door. Only a curtain.
When the monitor alarm went off, I pressed the call button. No one responded for more than 10 minutes. I had to scream to get attention. This was a recurrence all night long.
My dinner consisted of a sandwich of white bread with 2 slices of turkey. I had to fight to get mayonnaise for it. I'm diabetic and was not given my regular medication which meant when they tested my blood sugar, it was sky high. So they gave me insulin, which I am not on. I was given a cold breakfast which I couldn't eat.
I insisted on leaving after 1 night for obvious reasons.
I would not in any way recommend this hospital or it's nursing staff.
I was not sent a survey from the hospital, which is why I'm posting a review on Google.

I can not say enough good things about this hospital. I've had two stays with them. The first time, they saved my life. The second time, they gave me my life back. From doctors to the housekeepers, everybody is kind, caring, and professional. The nurses are exceptional. This is how a hospital should function. I live in Ft. Lauderdale and go here for my procedures. That should tell you something.

These people will purposefully misdiagnose your child. Deny life saving treatment. And try their hardest to falsify records so that you lose your children to the foster system. BEWARE !!! This hospital tears apart black families. They need to be shut down immediately

I wish you are able to give 0 star reviews because that is what this hospital deserves for a review. Horrible hospital. If you can find another hospital to go to, I highly recommend doing so. Do not go to Shands.
Disgrace. Get your stuff together Shands. For such a highly rated hospital I expected better care for a family member of mine.

My husband and I have been coming to shands for over 14 years. We travel 3 hours to get here. Currently here now because my husband had his arm amputated. The quality of care at Shands has decreased immensely. The hospital is DISGUSTING! The floors are absolutely filthy. The rooms are disgusting. How can a “top notch” facility like Shands fall so far If it weren’t for the fact that my husband surgeon works out of this hospital. I would never come back to it! Just so heart broken. This hospital came so highly recommended years ago and now it is an absolute dump. The cooks on the 3rd floor terrace holding their pants up while handling food! Very sad!!
Also John from transport what a jerk!! Was so abrupt. Kicking the breaks on the bed like it was a football, when my husband was being transported from recovery after having his arm amputated. He should be fired. Terrible attitude!

If you value your life and your kids lives DO NOT COME HERE!!!! they will prescribe you things that will harm your children and then blame you from medical neglect resulting your children taken away. They are working with CPS Michaela Bailey to continue to displace children from their homes. #JusticeforJade Shields!

I was so very well cared for the 5 days I was there. Everyone was amazing. Huge Thank You to the 8th floor of the cancer hospital. Tracie in room 8246 is truly grateful for all the angels who work there. The only other place I would have rather been was home. Meghan was my nurse and she is an amazing lady!! Loved Her!! Cant thank everyone enough for all the excellent care from the pca's, food service, and especially the Nurses and Doctors. Thank you! ❤️
