It has some Abilene trinkets for sale & visitors information. This center is aimed at welcoming individuals of businesses to Abilene. I was directed to the visitors center at Frontier Texas. It had better information in the lobby for tourists i do appreciate that the old T&P passenger station behind is still semi preserved. It gives hope that one day Abilene can be apart of the USA passenger system again. The statues outside are a positive artistic impact & there is a decent garden next to the visitors center.

When we planned to visit Abilene State Park, I didn’t have the faintest idea that the City of Abilene was such a hotspot of art and culture! Wow, were we ever blown away!! From sculpture to music, art to literature, Abilene is full of historical significance. Being Storybook Capitol of America has some significance!!

The sculptures are amazing, and despite the cold, we had an awesome time viewing them ALL. And we only had to ask for directions once. PS - look up ?

Cannot give enough praise to the visitors bureau in the community for their efforts. Well done. We will definitely be back!

We meant to post this a couple of months ago when it happened.

I must extend the most enthusiastic of thank-yous to the team at the Abilene Convention and Visitors Bureau for their wonderful sense of humor and hospitality. My brother Mitch, in fulfilling the terms of a lost bet, arrived garbed in a chicken costume that was the epitome of ridiculousness – complete with oversized feet, bright yellow/red plumage, embarrassing red tights and a beak that bobbed comically with every step.

As he shuffled and flapped through the chicken dance, the staff's laughter became the day's soundtrack, echoing warmly throughout the premises, egging him on to embarrass himself further. Mitch's feathery ensemble was not just a costume but a beacon of hilarity, turning heads and drawing smiles from everyone who witnessed the spectacle.

The Seussical statues stood as silent, whimsical witnesses to Mitch's flamboyant display, which was captured in a series of photos that are sure to roost in our memories for years to come. The staff's encouragement only added to the spectacle, making Mitch's flamboyant display as heartwarming as it was humorous.

Your team's kindness in embracing such a silly situation has only heightened my appreciation for the community spirit of Abilene. Mitch, though perhaps a tad embarrassed at this public humiliation, was definitely a spectacle.

We thank you for the memories and the laughter, and Mitch – though he might not admit it just yet – will come back for an encore if they will have him LOL!

Parking is on the south side of the train tracks. There is a tunnel at ground level where the old t&p station would board passengers built in 1936. There are old parking meters in the lot but it's free now.

Nice little park, but no parking. The signage for the Visitor's Center is terrible: you need to turn in BEFORE the T&P Depot, which on second pass, does say Visitor's Center in small print at the bottom of the sign. It's one of those things where you had to know your way around it before you go, which is of course a bad idea for a Visitor's Center. I'm still shocked that the Visitor's Center isn't open on Saturday. I guess if you want to visit Abilene, you need to come back during regular business hours? I feel like Abilene is still trying to get its arms around what tourists are.

This is a delightful little center and park. With more than a handful of neat statues, and plenty of Pokemon Go stops, it is a great place to walk around on a calm evening with others.

Same quality food as the freezer section in the grocery store, and they didn't give me a fork for takeout.

Very outdated and boring. Glad I moved out of Abilene!
