Auf unserem Weg durch Texas, sind wir an diesem tollen kleinen Museum vorbeigekommen. Ein liebevoll gepflegtes Kleinod mit schönen alten originalen Exponaten. Die Gartenlage mit ihrem Rundgang ist sehr gepflegt und ein schönes Fotomotiv. Eis gibt reichlich Informationstafeln und Material über das Museum und dem Namensgeber. Ein ganz besonderes Flair liegt über dem Areal. Irgendwie erwartet man Geräusche von Pferden und Sporen:-) Schön das es Mensch gibt die so etwas pflegen und erhalten. Wer hier vorbeikommt, sollte sich die Zeit für einen Besuch nehmen. Eine Spende für das Museum war selbstverständlich !!! Und danke an die freundliche Mitarbeiterin, die nett empfangen hat.

Interesting story and an excellent texas State travel spot information center. Saloon and cactus garden were very cool. Glad we stopped. Also received a great travel packet. Thanks and just FYI admission is free.

The first impression I had from this experience is how fantastic the effort Texas DOT put into this site. This is an thoughtful presentation of a very old Texas treasure. Old West fans cannot miss this opportunity. Judge Roy Beans Saloon and Court are remarkably preserved as well the Opera house ... There is a fantastic flower , tree and cactus garden and the well preserved wind mill which brought up water for the steam trains. Inside the DOT facility is a small museum type display. Very interesting. The facility is very well taken care and I encountered very friendly staff as well as much travel literature.

What a great little place to stop and visit. The staff is very friendly and the restrooms are clean. Interesting to learn about Roy Bean and what the town was.
It has a very nice catus garden with a wide variety of plants.

TxDOT has built a large, beautiful garden around the two original structures from the Judge Roy Bean era. The visitor center is designed well, and the gardens are worth the time to stroll through them. Very well maintained and staffed by a cheerful, informative docent. Only 1 mile off of US 90 and well worth the visit.

First-rate little museum that is well-worth a visit.
It was fun seeing buildings I’d only seen in history books. The site is well-maintained and contains wonderful gardens that feature native plants. So beautiful and interesting! Their enormous century plant was getting ready to bloom, and the ocotillos actually had leaves on it since the area had just received some much-needed rainfall.
Very nice visitors center with exhibits and travel information. We enjoyed visiting with the two ladies working there.

Free admission and you learn about a Texas legend who sounds like he was a real character. In addition to his house and the Jersey Lilly saloon, there is a nice cactus garden which is worth a stroll.

Great pit stop with a great Texas visitor center. Easy close parking, with ample clean restrooms. Nice photo opportunities and expansive cactus garden. Front desk staff gave us some great tips for our trip to Big Bend. Stop in and stretch out your legs. Recommend
