Walk in healthcare on 2nd floor. Staff is very nice. After you check in, they move you through the system pretty quickly, but thoroughly. I was seen by four different people. They collected information on me and took x-rays. Could not find a fracture on my leg from the X-ray, but apparently there can be a small fracture that does not show up in the pictures. The last person I saw was the doctor and he suggested I wear a leg support around my knee for the next week. Everything that was done made sense to me and was done quickly but efficiently. This facility is in Gainesville Florida, but worth the drive to me. I will follow up next week to see if my leg has gotten better. Would recommend this facility. I believe it is part of the university training program for health care workers. It was very refreshing to work with nice people with a good attitude. Got an MRI on my leg last week. So I came in today and doesn't look like there's any solution other than pain maintenance. I was given a shot in the knee by Amber, my medical person who helps me (because I don't know her title.) She is very nice and she gives a very painless shot. I like this place a lot. So glad I found it.

Dr. Toussaint did my ankle surgery. I could tell it was professionally wrapped. It's because he wrapped it himself. Great care. Highly professional. Well trained staff. I'm glad I came here to get my surgery. Thank God.

Dr. Price and his staff was amazing! The intake nurse was funny and helped to calm my daughter’s nerves when we first walked into the doctor’s office. The PA (I wish I remembered his name) was thorough and directly spoke to my daughter and explained this to her so she understood, as well as myself. His overall exam was more thorough than her last two appointments at a competitors clinic. Dr. Price was so friendly and knowledgeable! Even the student who was observing was super sweet and helpful. I was beyond impressed with our visit to the pediatric floor at OSMI! I would refer anyone there!

We thought we were being smart going to the UF Health Pediatric OrthoCare Walk-in for a potential broken foot instead of a regular walk-in clinic (just to be referred to Ortho Spec.). From the beginning it was a nightmare, we waited for almost 2 hours after being told it would be 30-45 minutes. When we were finally called back, they took some quick xrays and were sent back to the waiting room. We saw the Dr. for no more than 10 minutes and were given a boot and sent home. The follow up was quick and lasted less than the previous experience. A few weeks later, I received a bill from UF for well over $1,000 (after FL Blue insurance). The first visit to see the Dr. (not including the xray) was over $400! Remember, this was a 10 min. visit. The boot that was not necessary cost us >$200 after insurance. Come to find out, this place is charging Hospital codes and adding time to fill their pockets and drain ours. As a family of UF Alumni, this place is a disgrace and should be looked into for their fraudulent and non-transparent billing practices.

My 10y daughter had an injury fall on her back - we visited Sunday Aug 25th 2024 had x-ray, the physician reviewed the x-ray and told us everything normal prescribed pain killer nothing bad apparently - my daughter went to school normally and did her PA classes with physical activities as if there is nothing with her back

On Wednesday 28th radiology report shows something bad googled that it appears compressive fracture in vertebrae!! Looks like the physician wasn’t able to read the X-ray correct. we expected they approach us to communicate this and discuss … No one called!

On Thursday 29th, I called the office and asked to talk to the physician to see what’s going on. They left a call-back message. A nurse called me in the afternoon and told me we will go do MRI and pick a back braces. Asked why she told to gather more information. Asked it looks there is inconsistency with what the physician said on Sunday she told me she is just a nurse and cannot communicate anything further.

On Friday 30th, my daughter did MRI. We picked the back braces and asked she should wear it. Until this moment we don’t know what’s going on!! No physician discussed anything with us!

On Sunday Sep 1st 2024, we received the MRI report on MyChart and it apparently confirms what we googled earlier - compressive fracture in vertebrae!!!

Until this moment of writing this review Sep 2nd 2024, no one contacted us or discussed what is going on with our daughter case. Tomorrow is school we are straggling with what to do no school report no instruction if PA classes should be cancelled. Complete ignorance by the healthcare team!!

Obviously there is a mistake in diagnosis by the physician or already seen a fracture in the X-ray by physician and pretended she didn’t notice and we are trying to figuring out what to do ourselves!

My son and I enjoy the entire staff every time we come for his appointments. Today I called for a school excuse to be emailed to me the woman who answered the phone was very ignorant and rude for no reason and I told her to put her supervisor on the phone and she simply hung up in my face just because i confused her asking for mailing address for my email address to send the letter, instead of her letting me know i heard her incorrectly, she was very rude. I wish I knew her name. If only I could get to the office today to file a complaint. lucky her 🙂 if you dont like your job and are bothered, find another one.

Would be a 5 star review, but the absolutely cold and unwelcoming experience of the front check in area employees is absolutely unacceptable. To be the first face you see on the 2nd floor you should have a much better attitude. Maybe a patient facing position isn't best for most of them at that desk.

Such a shame.

I am currently working on my first issue at this place. However, I was with my wife on her two issues. This place sets the standard. Truly amazed at how each department works with each other to accomplish the goal(s) for recovery. Everyone I have encountered during my issue has been genuinely concerned and worked to complete a treatment plan. So many physicians could take lessons on how to treat, interact and schedule.appoinents from here. They truly do care.
